Digital Banking Company
Challenge: Redesign a core banking platform while creating a data-driven product culture.
My role as an Embedded Team Member and consultant (duration: 6 months)
- Led 400+ user engagements, from discovery to usability validation, alongside product and design peers.
- Built a centralized research repository, using Dovetail, so insights and raw data are accessible org-wide.
- Piloted AI powered personas and users. Combined user interview transcripts with OpenAI, integrated them with Zapier, to create users that could be chatted with directly in Slack, in order to empower other teams to engage directly with data.
- Standardized design & engineering workflows with a design system based on MUI, and living in Zeplin for clarity and reuse.
- Taught the team how to run lean, iterative research sprints as part of their current iterative cadence.
Result: Market-ready designs validated before build, and a team now leading their own research with confidence.
Digital Advertising Software Company
Challenge: Launch a new product line while strengthening design practices to keep pace with growth.
My role as an Embedded Team Member and consultant (duration: 2 months)
- Delivered validated design concepts for a major integration, working side-by-side with engineers and PMs.
- Merged design and marketing personas with live usage data (from FullStory), allowing for real time behavioral observation based on personas.
- Improved design & engineering collaboration with a DesignOps workflow (30% tooling cost savings).
- Coached designers and product team members in process and craft during active delivery.
Result: 2x faster design delivery, reduced costs and improved collaboration across teams.
